I just spent a half a hour on the phone being questioned about my opinions of players and owners in the NFL. Apparently the owners want to void the last two years of their contract with the players association. The owners are claiming they are losing money.
Somebody is pulling your leg. They are making money hand over fist. It must be the start of contract negotiations.

Perry,
I don't think their pulling my leg. As you stated the owners are making money hand over fist (ok a few might not be) but the types of questions I was asked about my opinion are along the lines of other surveys I took for upcoming issues. In this case:
I'll start out with my favorite question I was asked.
1 - The players are stating that if the owners are losing money they want to have the books opened so they can work it out. The owners state that they won't do that "because they have provided all the financial documents require
by the current contract with the players association"
Are you more inclined to side with the owners or players?
This was my favorite question because the owners WANT TO VOID THE CURRENT CONTRACT - but then want the "protection" it currently provides them.
2 - The owners are threatening to lock out the players if they don't affect the reduction in revenue while the players want to work it out.
Are you more inclined to side of the owners or players?
Other questions included minimum salary, players suffering from career ending injuries, capping contracts at 3 years. etc.
Still sounds like a negotiation tactic. It sounds like the questions are coming from the player side and they are looking for a good backstory to their PR campaign. Was there a question about the salary cap?

I agree that this is a start of a PR campaign, especially if the owners want to void the existing contract. There was a question as it were - stating the the players were willing to cap contracts to 3 years and use the savings for ?(I forget). But as far as a salary cap ----- no.
